Los Angeles is one of the biggest cities in the world and people everywhere know that this California city is a hotspot for culture, fashion, entertainment and the next latest greatest thing. Californians like to do things up right, especially in Los Angeles and that’s one of the reasons that the firework shows here are over the top! Also, with great weather year round, the area’s mild climate makes it easy for pyrotechnicians to plan and put on big firework show.
There are plenty of firework shows in the Los Angeles area around the Fourth of July, by some counts at least 40 different events are put on in honor of our nation’s founding. From the beaches and boardwalks to downtown and surrounding urban areas, firework enthusiasts are sure to find an event that will keep them entertaining until the dawn’s early light! Right in the heart of the movie business, fans can watch a magnificent display called the ‘Grand Ole 4th of July Fireworks Festival.’ Located in Studio City, part of the greater Los Angeles area, this event features plenty of activities that end in a rooftop firework display.
Other memorable firework shows for Independence Day include the July 4th Fireworks Spectacular at the Hollywood Bowl. Entertainment typically includes music by the LA Philharmonic, marching bands and live entertainment by some of the music industries biggest stars. Picnic baskets filled with wine and munchies are allowed at this great outdoor event. The Rose Bowl in Pasadena is also home to a great firework show called AmericaFest. Spectacular fireworks are shot up into the sky choreographed to great patriotic music for the season.
Throughout the year, Disneyland in Anaheim is always a family friendly spot for watching a firework show. Disney fireworks delights guests with the iconic image of fireworks o visit to the Disneyland Resort is complete without the iconic image of fireworks bursting over the castle of Sleeping Beauty. Shows change with the season, including special versions for the 4th f July, New Year’s Eve, Halloween and more. A little hint, if you don’t want to fork over the big bucks for a Disneyland ticket, you can see most of the fireworks from Downtown Disney which is open to the public and doesn’t have an admission.
Disney isn’t the only attraction that offers firework viewings. Other theme parks in the area such as Universal Studios Hollywood feature seasonal firework shows. Halloween Horror Nights during the month of October at Universal Studios features extremely spooky exhibits, rides and themed firework shows. Six Flags Magic Mountain also offers seasonal firework shows including events for New Year’s Eve and the Fourth of July.
Many special events, concert performances and sporting teams also celebrate with amazing fireworks for the audience. For example, the Los Angeles Dodgers feature Friday Night fireworks as a way to entice parents and their kids out to the ballpark. LA Galaxy soccer also will occasionally feature post-game fireworks that are not to be missed from the fan stands or neighboring streets. And, when the City of Angels has been host to national or international sporting events like the Olympics or the World Cup, you can bet your last firecracker that the pyrotechnic professionals are going to be doing one bang up job.
