Fourth of July Celebration at Centennial Park is always a top choice for patriotic fun in the town. Offering a full day of entertainment for the whole family including food, live music and other festival activities, the epic event comes to a close with the AirTran Airways Fireworks Spectacular that is also broadcast live on local television and radio. Bring blankets and spread out along the park’s Great Lawn and then let the kids cool off afterward in the famed Fountain of Rings.
Another well-attended firework display on July 4th is the Lenox Square Independence Day Celebration which offers a day and night’s worth of fun for everyone. Earlier in the morning, the area hustles with activity thanks to the famous Peachtree Road Race and then after noon the square transforms into a family festival that is capped off with one of the largest firework displays in the Southeast. By all accounts, it’s a legendary celebration not to be missed!
Another biggie for folks in the mood to honor this great country is the Fantastic Fourth Celebration at Stone Mountain Park where an amazing firework show follows the laser show that is so popular at the park. The fireworks at Stone Mountain are shot off from both the base at the top of the chiseled cliff side lighting up the carvings as well as the entire sky.
